
The Special program at IIOC provides events and outdoor activities for families and children with special needs and learning differences.
Events and classes hosted by Special include:
- Special Needs Quran Class | Sundays 10-12 pm.
- Special Needs Hiking Club | First Saturday, monthly at 9-11 am
- Storytimes
- Carnivals
- Awareness Events
- Community Iftars
- Paint Nights
- Nasheed Nights

A Special Needs Hiking Club (in partnership with the Art and Wilderness Institute) is held every first Saturday of the month from 9-11 AM. Club members should:
- Attend hikes with their caregiver who can tend to their special accommodations.
- All ages are welcome
- Travel to various locations around Southern California/Orange County
This is not a drop-off, we would like to encourage family participation.
- Club Advisor: Annan Aboul-Nasr
- Hiking Leaders: Fatima Khan, Tehsina Raza, and Kiirston Valverde.
- Hikes are Led by Art and Wilderness Institute:
Trained Hiking Leader Volunteers and IIOC Special Needs Volunteers.
